Lukas Kaufmann has been a professional mountain biker since 2019. He is also a great human being. His life is all about attaining goals that in turn help people in need. Like with everybody, the past year, which was full of Covid induced lifestyle changes and restrictions, was very hard for Lukas. So, he came up with an idea to tackle this - a 24 Hours Series. He completed a 24-hour run in which he covered 180 km and most importantly, raised 8500 € for a charity project that supported children in his hometown. He followed that up with another amazing feat, a 24-hour ski tour where he scaled 13,200 meters and raised 3500 € for a charity in Africa.
Now, Lukas wants to master another 24-hour challenge. This time, he will be doing it on a bicycle indoors, for 24 hours, to conquer the ‘ActiveClima–Hometrainer-Challenge’ on ROUVY and raise donation for the charity, Herzkinder Austria! Would you like to join him on this ride around the world? You can follow and motivate him from the 3rd of April to the 4th!
“24 Hours ActiveClima Hometrainer Challenge for Herzkinder Austria”
“24 Stunden AktivKlima Hometrainer Challenge für Herzkinder Österreich”
Event Start time: 3rd April, 2021: 2pm CET
Event End time: 4th April, 2021: 2pm CET
Lukas says about himself: “I will be turning 27 years old on Sunday, the 4th of April, during my challenge :). When I was young, I was a little bit fat. Then, one summer I lost more than 20 kg and thus started my career in cycling. In the beginning, I rode many XC races in Austria, and then I discovered my love for marathon races - I enjoy taking on extreme, long challenges. My most favourite race till now is the SALZKAMMERGUT TROPHY in Bad Goisern. It’s the hardest mountain-bike marathon in Europe, spanning 211km and 7,149hm, in which I finished 3rd in 2019.
I ride mountain-bike marathons in various countries from all continents of our world (Australia, USA, Costa Rica, South Africa, Dubai, Czech republic, France, Norway, Italy, Germany,..); and for me riding on a beautiful Trail is the best thing. Since the beginning of the season in 2019, I have used my passion to ride to help people in need - THANKS to all my sponsors who made this possible!”.
“Now, there are no races because of Covid restrictions. So, I have decided to do 24hr challenges to help children who are going through difficult situations in life. The aim is to help children with HEART DISEASE (and their parents) in LINZ (upper Austria), near my home.” says Lukas.
